Led Zeppelin-a-Day: "Hot Dog"

This is actually Jimmy Page at the ARMS Show, BUT he adorns a Tele outfitted with a B-Bender, which makes it totally relevant to "Hot Dog"!

"Hot Dog", In Through the Out Door
"Hot Dog"...  The only song on the album not penned at all by John Paul Jones. I really don't like Robert Plant's vocals. Its not even the pseudo-Elvis tone he's attempting to achieve, its just quintessentially latter-day deep. Led Zeppelin were totally capable of hoedown-ing, and "Hot Dog" does not reflect such skill! Apparently, they performed "Hot Dog" at Knebworth, which is... silly. (Between "Ten Years Gone" and "The Rain Song" at that!) I kind of like the boogie woogie piano and JP's rockabilly influenced guitar, but overall, the song is just average. I don't passionately loathe it, but I don't love it either... Boo you, In Through the Out Door!Source URL: https://jimhensons.blogspot.com/2010/03/led-zeppelin-day-dog.html
