"Black Country Woman", Physical Graffiti
So its quite clear that I adore disc two of Physical Graffiti more than any other slab of vinyl, ever. But per usual, not all songs are similarly exciting. Interesting, certainly not horrid, but not all equally enthralling. For something as marvelous as Physical Graffiti disc two, "Black Country Woman" (as well as "Boogie with Stu") is just that. Not bad songs by any means, but simply not "Ten Years Gone" or "In the Light" marvelous. Its pretty catchy, humorous lyrics ("... That's alright, I know your sister too"), and it was even recorded in Mick Jagger's garden! (The garden of Mick Jagger's home rather, Mick wasn't exactly hanging around the corner.) Also, you get that fun banter in the beginning, as well as the always pleasant mandolin, in addition to Stones vet Ian Stewart. Unlike "All My Love", I've got nothing against "Black Country Woman".
